Lonoke County, situated in central Arkansas with the city of Lonoke as its county seat, operates a multi-tiered court system that processes criminal, civil, domestic, juvenile, and probate matters across one circuit court and several district courts. The Circuit Clerk’s Office serves as the primary custodian for most court records in the county, while individual district courts maintain their own case files for matters within their jurisdiction. Whether you are looking for a criminal case disposition, a civil judgment, a divorce decree, or a probate filing, knowing which office to contact — and what tools are available for searching — is essential to obtaining the records you need efficiently.

For those conducting court record research in Arkansas, several resources are available to help locate case information. Official clerk offices, courthouse kiosk terminals, and online search tools maintained by the state judiciary all provide varying levels of access to public case data. ArkansasCourts.us may be a useful starting point for identifying available court case information across the state and connecting to the appropriate search portal for a given county or court.

However, the FOIA and other Arkansas statutes carve out categories of records that are exempt from mandatory public disclosure:

  • Personnel records where disclosure would constitute an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy
  • Personal contact information of subjects or witnesses in court cases, including home addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses
  • Medical records, adoption records, and education records protected under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (20 U.S.C. § 1232g)
  • Documents shielded from disclosure by court order or court rule
  • Law enforcement investigative files relating to suspected but uncharged criminal activity
  • Grand jury minutes and unpublished drafts of judicial or quasi-judicial opinions
  • Records containing security-related data such as passwords, personal identification numbers, and transaction authorization codes
  • Juvenile court records involving delinquency cases, dependency-neglect cases, and Family In Need of Services (FINS) proceedings
